DANMARK: TOPDANMARK CONFIRMS RUMOURS
Article Abstract:
Topdanmark announced that it plans to abolish its voting right restrictions on May 1st. The move will prevent hostile takeover bids and get the companies values out in the open. Topdanmark made the announcement to remove the insecurity in the market following the article in Borsen yesterday. If the boards adopts the proposal Topdanmark could become the target of takeover bids. But according to analysts Topdanmarks shares are quite high and a take over would be expensive. The insurance company If could increase its presence on the Danish market by taking over Topdanmark. Also Codan which is part of the Royal & Sun alliance which has an agressive buy out strategy, could be interested in Topdanmark.

DENMARK: CODAN HAS AN IMAGE PROBLEM
Article Abstract:
According to a survey by Pragmatic Marketing, the Danish insurance company Codan has an image problem and more than 20 per cent of all customers are considering finding another company. Generally only 12 per cent of insurance customers consider changing company. One explanation may be that Codan has raised its premiums more than the competitors. When Codan customers change company they often choose Tryg-Baltica or Topdanmark, the survey says.
