DENMARK: BRYGGERIGRUPPEN UPGRADES RESULTS

Bryggerigruppen, the Danish brewery group, has upgraded its estimated results and anticipates a DKr 220-230mn (USD 30-31mn) pre-tax profit for 1999. The group reports positive development on the UK, German and Polish markets as well as on the Danish market, which was characterised by a long and warm summer. Turnover will increase, but only to a minor extent, as sales in Russia have decreased, the group reports.

Bryggerigruppen ( the Danish Brewery Group) reports a DKr2,031mn (US$244mn) turnover in the first nine months of 2001 vs. DKr2,589mn in the same period last year. Operating profit dropped to DKr174mn whereas profit before tax was DKr136,9mn vs. DKr137.6mn in 2000. Bryggerigruppen consists of the following brewing companies Faxe Bryggeri, Ceres Bryggerier and Thor Bryggerier and their subsidiaries.

Bryggerigruppen, the Danish brewing group, reports a DKr6.0mn (US$0.7mn) loss in the first quarter of 2001 vs. a profit of DKr7.3mn in the same period last year on a turnover of DKr701mn vs. DKr519mn. Operating profit stood at DKr3.9mn vs. a loss of DKr6.6mn in the corresponding period last year. The group anticipates a pre-tax profit of DKr200-220mn for the whole of 2001.
