SWEDEN: CONTRACT FOR ORGANIC BEER SUPPLIES

Thisted Bryghus, the minor Danish brewery, has signed a contract with the major retail chain FDB for the supply of organic beer. Furthermore, by the beginning of 2000, the brewery will widen its range of organic beer by offering organic strong beer, and later on other organic beers. Thisted Bryghus is the sole producer of organic beer in Denmark.

POLAND: CARLSBERG HAS INCREASED STAKE

Article Abstract:

The Danish brewery company Carlsberg has increased its stake in the Polish brewery Okocim by 2.3% to 47%. The latest investment totalled DKr 16mn (USD 2.2mn). Carlsberg has not applied for permission to acquire more than 50% of the Polish brewery.
