DENMARK: ORHUS PORT SUCCESSFUL
Article Abstract:
The port of orhus proves successful and it is expected to boost cargo turnover by 220,000 tonnes i.e. 10% in the first three months of 2001 vs. the same period last year. Container turnover shows a 13% increase. In 2000, the port reported a profit of DKr39mn and this year's profit is estimated at DKr31mn (US$3.7mn).

A.P.Moller (APM) is on the lookout for other shipping companies that would be willing use its container terminal in the port of Arhus. This is part of APM's plans to expand the terminal, which it leases on a 25-year contract from the Port of Arhus authorities.
