DENMARK: TELE DANMARK VIOLATES LEGISLATION?
Article Abstract:
Tele Danmark Kabel TV, the cable-TV subsidiary of the Danish telecom, has possibly violated competition legislation by offering a new modem for fast Internet access only to households which subscribe both to its Internet and telephony services. 25,000 out of Tele Danmark's 800,000 cable-TV clients have been offered the modem. The case will now be investigated by Konkurrencestyrelsen, the Danish competition authority. Torben Lange, marketing director at Tele Danmark Kabel TV, says the company has initiated negotiations with competitors about access to its cable-TV network, but these negotiations have not given any results so far.
