Daewoo Avia's financial recovery
Article Abstract:
Daewoo Avia (DA) (Prague, Czech Republic), lorry company, will realise a financial-recovery programme in 1998. According to a decision of DA's general assembly in July 1998, the firm should decrease its stock from 1.7 bil Kc to about 1 bil Kc to cover its hitherto losses. Then, the firm's main shareholder Daewoo (South Korea) should increase its stock by capitalising its receivables. DA's debt of 1.6 bil Kc will be covered and its stock will increase to 2.6 bil Kc due to the capitalisation of receivables. The stake in DA held by the concern Daewoo will increase to more than 80% after the capitalisation.
