Death cigarettes vow to advertise on Norwegian TV
Article Abstract:
Det Opplyste Tobakkskompani has launched the Death brand of cigarettes in Norway. The brand was launched in the UK in 1991 by the Enlightened Tobacco Company. It is claimed that smokers buy the brand because of profit donations to cancer research, and because of the brand's honesty about the effects of smoking. The Norwegian launch will include a television and press advertising campaign.

RJR tests smokeless cigarettes in Europe
Article Abstract:
Cigarette firm R.J. Reynolds is testing its smokeless cigarette brand HLQ in Augsburg, Germany. The no-ash/low-smoke cigarette is claimed to produce 90% less smoke than other cigarettes, although users find it difficult to light. HLQ is also being test-marketed in Stockholm, Sweden. If the product is successfull it will be launched in other European markets.

EU law forces Finland to lift ban on RJR's YO cigarette
Article Abstract:
The decision by Finnish Health Minister Jorma Huuhtanen to impose a sales ban on YO cigaratee brand manufactured by PC Rettig, which was recently acquired by RJ Reynolds, has been retracted. The ban was due to violation of advertising laws but under European Union law, the government must prove just cause before banning the sale of a product.
