Decorative cosmetics in Germany
Article Abstract:
Germany's retail market for decorative cosmetics was worth an estimated DM1.4 billion in 1996. There is a clear shift towards less expensive brands, and this may limit the prospects for market growth. However, an improving economic climate could lead to sales rising by an average of 3% to 5% a year. Production of decorative cosmetics is currently worth around DM600 million a year, with lip-care products accounting for more than 40% of production in value terms.
