DOZ moves on
Article Abstract:
Zurich, Switzerland's interpreters' and translators' school, Dolmetscherschule Zurich (DOZ), will be merged with two other high learning institutions, namely the School for Economics and Business (HWV) and Technicum Winterthur in Mar 2000 to create the University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur. With the consolidation, DOZ will finally be recognized as an academic institution and will have the infrastructure and computer technology to carry out research and development in applied linguistics.

These include Berwin and Berwin, family tailor, which diversified into serving high street chains, manufacturing clothes for women, and importing, Brora, cashmere retailer, and First Telecom, telecommunications company. Fallon McElligott (UK), advertising agency, which is in its first year in business backed by the US agency of the same name, already has a turnover of 40 million pounds sterling.
