Financial Times used the word recession 425 times in September which is twice as much as a year ago, according to Borsen newspaper. Already in April the Economist's R-word index were in the red, which indicated the increased risk for the American economy. The index drawn up by Borsen shows the same tendencies for the Danish and Swedish economy, where the Danish economy has shown negative growth two quarters in a row and the Swedish economy's growth rate decreasing two an expected two percent. The Economist has analysed the R-word index for the last 20 years and claims that it is reliable in describing the economic situation.
