Denmark:FSB admits Firstviewbank project was a failure
Article Abstract:
Birgitta Johansson-Hedberg, ceo of Foreningssparbanken (FSB), the Swedish bank, said at the Second Annual Nordic Financial Services Conference that its Internet bank project, Firstviewbank, in Denmark was closed down as a result of failure to attract clients and not as a result of the scrapped merger plans with SEB. According to Birgitta Johansson-Hedberg, it was not wise to enter a new market with the help of an Internet alone - personal contacts at "real" banks are required.
