While Asian bond markets have grown more rapidly than those in developed countries in recent years they are still very small considering the vast number of investment projects they should be helping to finance. Bond market debt is just 2% of that in OECD nations.

East Asian countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia and South Korea may become excellent places to invest in for the coming years. Growth looks promising, and markets are likely to be opened to foreign investors soon.
