Digital rights and wrongs
Article Abstract:
Digital-rights-management systems are being developed by a number of companies and they may specialize in areas such as music, or cover a wide range of works. These systems are developed using the concept of 'trusted systems'. Copyright is easier to protect if there is control of both hardware and software. The computers using such systems may refuse to make copies if rules are infringed. Legal experts are concerned that too much power may be retained by copyright holders.
