The destructive bent to current video games that are based in the future could negatively influence how players believe the future will be. Computers and aliens are often part of the depiction of an apocalyptic future. Plots of futuristic science fiction books can allow for some good to be shown.

Current Internet search engines use key words to sort ideas on the World Wide Web, thus making searching difficult when words have more than one meaning. Jon Kleinberg developed a system called Hyperlink-Induced Topic Search that searches the links in a more discriminating way.
