EC155 towards certification
Article Abstract:
Eurocopter's program bid to certify its EC155 in October 1998 is progressing steadily, with the company putting more than 100 flight hours on the first prototype and introducing the second production-definitive helicopter into the flight test program in March 1998. The company has advance orders for around 20 of the EC155, including six helicopters for the Helicopter Service Group and 13 for the German Border Guard. The 14-seat EC155 is currently priced at $4.95 million. The aircraft incorporates a fenestron technology and variable RPM main rotor that will cut aircraft noise to at least 4dB below the latest ICAO standard. Eurodopter 331 EC155 4eu 372137

City Hawk VTOL proposed
Article Abstract:
AD and D is in the process of developing a two-seat model of the Israeli Hummingbird at its facilities in Rehovot, Israel. The vertical takeoff/landing aircraft, called CityHawk, will be capable of cruising at speeds of as much as 165km/h (90 knots) at heights of up to 2440m (8000 ft). AD and D, which claims that the dimensions of the helicopter will give it a distinct advantage over other aircraft, intends to market the CityHawk for personal transport, emergency medical service and law enforcement uses.
