EMC to buy Data General in stock deal

EMC Corp. has reached an agreement to acquire Data General Corp. for approximately $952 million (886.8 million euros). EMC is attempting to acquire a cheaper product line to its portfolio. The deal would enable EMC to expand its leading position in the storage industry. The company will also be given access to Data General's computer server line.
