The People's Mujahideen of Iran, out of power there since 1980, was attacked at its base of operations in Iraq by Iranian fighter planes. The best organized Iranian resistance group, the Mujahideen has been savagely persecuted by the government but remains strong due to Iraqi support and rich sympathizers.

Nothing to lose but your chador
Article Abstract:
The expected appointment of a woman to Iran's cabinet will have little impact on changing policy that continues to suppress their freedoms in Iranian society. Women are still punished for showing any hair or wearing makeup and perfume. Men still have the final say over what women can and cannot do.

Iranian women are once again being arrested for violating modesty laws. Many women resent the clothing laws, discrimination in employment, one-sided divorce laws and the fact that a husband can prevent his wife from obtaining a passport.
