Russians in search of Makarov successor
Article Abstract:
Russian arms manufacturers are developing new pistols to replace the Pistolet Makarovka (PM) and its successor Pistolet Makarovka Moderniziny (PMM). Sources say the Izhmash MR-443 'Grach' is the most likely candidate to replace the PM and PMM. The MR-443 features a steel frame and slide design and can be fired double action at the first shot. Another candidate is the MR-444 'Baghira,' which features an atypical locked breech design.
