Europe new-car sales fall despite price competition

New car sales for the month of December fell 3.9 percent to 1.07 million units in the European Union. The loss of sales was largest in Germany, Italy, France and Spain. The autombile industry has seen a fierce price war, many fresh car models and strong revenue for most Japanese manufacturers.
