Scottish Power plans to float its telecom unit by year end

Scottish Power PLC said it is planning to launch a public floatation for its Scottish Telecom unit by the end of 1999. The floatation could give the unit a value of 1.2 billion pounds to 1.5 billion pounds (1.87 billion euros to 2.34 billion euros).
