Exchanges in cross-membership pact
Article Abstract:
Several securities exchange firms namely SBF-Bourse de Paris of France, Monep SA, Matif SA, Deutsche Boerse AG, Eurex and Bourse Suisse have signed a cross-membership deal that will allow their respective members to have access to each of their products available on each electronic trading platform. The agreement, which is scheduled to become effective before the end of 1998, also enables each company to gain from the coordination of admission procedures, cost reductions, and mutual recognition of each professional credentials. The agreement between securities exhange firms was made following the memorandum of understanding that established the Euro Alliance.
