Chinooks support in Sierra Leone
Article Abstract:
Four HC2 Chinook military utility helicopters from the UK Royal Air Force were deployed in Freetown, Sierra Leone, to support UK and United Nations troops in the war-torn capital. The Chinooks, which are expected to be furthered reinforced by Russian Hind attack helicopters in the coming weeks, were initially used to ferry UK and European Union member country nationals to the airport where they were transferred to Hercules transports and flown to Senegal.

Chinooks in the Rockies
Article Abstract:
Three Royal Air Force Chinook HC2 helicopters were reportedly deployed to Canada for the first time during Aug 2000 to participate in Exercise Iron Hawk. Exercise Iron Hawk was a 38-day live firing and manuever warfare training exercise conducted at a British Army training area in Suffield, Alberta, 250 km east of Calgary, Alberta. During the deployment, Chinook crews carried out mountain flying training in the nearby Canadian Rockies.
