FRANCE: FRANCE TELECOM TARGETS SMALL BUSINESSES
Article Abstract:
France Telecom's new offer targets small and medium businesses, a market of 200,000 companies with a staff between 10 and 500, whose telecoms bill totalled an estimated FFr 40bn in 1999, compared to FFr 23bn for the 3,500 large companies recorded in the country. The French telecoms operator targets 10,000 customers by 31 December 2000 thanks to the new offer, ten times as many as today. The package offer, called Essentiels Oleane, includes three services. Oleane Multi allows to interconnect two (retail monthly price, FFr 900) or three (FFr 1,460 a month) intranet sites. Oleane Open supplies an Internet access with associated services. Oleane Control is the most complete of three offers, including Internet access, intranet with firewall, messaging systems, domain names, plus a 20-hour Internet and intranet communication time.
