FRANCE: HAMMERSON TO MAKE MAJOR INVESTMENTS

In 1997 just 7% of the property assets of the British real estate group Hammerson were based in France, in February 1999 France accounts for 18% of the total. Hammerson is recentering its activity on Europe, notably France where its strategy is to seize any acquisition opportunity that concerns offices or shopping centres costing more than FFr 400mn-FFr 500mn. It has already invested FFr 52mn in the Cergy-Trois Fontaines

Latvia: Kristensen Property in a shopping mall project

Danish Kristensen Properties A/S has inaugurated the first of its four building projects in the Riga, the capital of Latvia. This is a 6,500-sq-m shopping mall for around DKr85mn (US$10.2mn). The mall is expected to be leased to institutional investors.

LATVIA: DANISH COMPANY TO BUILD RETAIL CENTRES

The Danish company Thorkild Kristensen Properties will invest DKr 40-5mn (USD 6-8mn) in a new retail centre in Riga, Latvia, in the next few months. The company is planning for several retail centres in Latvia in the next four-five years.
