FRANCE: DOMAXEL LOOKS FOR PARTNER
Article Abstract:
Domaxel of France, which operates Weldom do-it-yourself stores, is holding talks about an alliance with a distribution group from Europe or France, according to a spokesman from the company. The deal is expected to be finalised by end 2001. This is seen as vital to Domaxel as MBSA, investment fund, which placed EUR 7.62mn in Domaxel in 1994, giving it a 49.9% stake, could withdraw its investment. There were plans for a flotation, but this has been decided against as it has not been successful for other companies in the sector.
