FUSIONSBOLGE PA VEJ I FORSIKRINGER
Article Abstract:
Bent Knie-Andersen, chairman of R det for Dansk Forsikring & Pension, the trade organisation of the Danish insurance sector, and MD of the insurance company Alm Brand, anticipates a concentration of the sector through mergers in the next few years. He expects that 4-5 groups will control the main part of the sector, which means the Danish insurance market will be similar to the markets in other Nordic countries. Bent Knie-Andersen says middle-sized companies risk to lose in the long run, whereas large companies will become even larger and small companies will remain small. Nordic companies such as Swedish Trygg-Hansa and Norwegian Storebrand have already shown interest in expanding in Denmark, the paper comments.
