Malaysia's planned Multimedia Super Corridor will be centred around a new city called Putrajaya. Taking investment of around $8 billion, this city, which will serve as a new government centre, is being designed to be as attractive and easy to live in as possible. The new high-tech zone is already attracting interest from multinational high-tech companies such as Sun Microsystems and Microsoft, and is also designed to serve as a command centre from which manufacturing concerns can run operations in other parts of Asia.

Asia will enjoy continuing strong economic growth as long as relations between China and the US do not deteriorate, according to Malaysian businessman Faiz Abdullah. He has gained a strong reputation for shrewd business dealings, assisted by an ability to speak five languages. He now aims to set up a finance and property conglomerate which will focus on media and publishing.
