Dr. Craig Venter hopes to patent genes. Venter is working in the human genome project. This project seeks to investigate the entire human gene pool. Using a technique called complement DNA technology (CDNA), Venter is able to change messenger RNA into DNA. The genes captured by the DNA are the ones He wants patented.
