Fissile politics
Article Abstract:
Germany has come into conflict with the UK and France over its decision to phase out atomic power. France and the UK claim that Germany has gone ahead with this policy with almost no consultation, and object to the fact that Germany is now cancelling its long-term nuclear waste reprocessing contracts with effect from 2000. Cogema of France and British Nuclear Fuels are set to face a considerable struggle to obtain compensation from Germany for the losses incurred as a result of the cancellation of reprocessing contracts.
