Franchising agreements in new car retailing: an empirical investigation
Article Abstract:
Greater financial incentives to franchised auto dealerships led to higher investments in retail services. This signifies that manufacturers are highly motivated to invest in a new car brand if incentive payments are also higher. Moreover, a negative significant relationship exists between service levels and monitoring costs whereas a significant relationship is found between monitoring frequency and incentive payments.
