Article Abstract:
An exhibition of furniture designed for Mies van der Rohe's major European projects, the Weissenhofsiedlung, the Barcelona Pavilion and the Tugendhat House, is being held at Pollok Country Park, Glasgow. The exhibition features several original versions of the Freischwinger (cantilever) seat, with descriptions of the different types of joints, supports and weldings. It also features some of Mies' sketches and patent drawings, together with adverts by the furniture makers.
