GENISYS PLANS TO HIKE ITS INVESTMENT TO Rs45 CR IN INDIA
Article Abstract:
Genisys group of UK plans to enhance its investment in India from Rs15 crore to Rs45 crore. The funds will come from internal accruals and will be invested in a phased manner over two years. It plans to set up a 8,700 square feet software development unit at a cost of Rs20 crore at Whitefield near Bangalore. The centre will commence operations by June 1999. The centre will cater to the UK market and focus on mainframe, Oracle, visual basic and Sybase packages. (rk)

CYBER LAW TO GIVE DIGITAL SIGNATURES LEGAL SANCTION
Article Abstract:
The Indian government is set to enact a Cyber Law which will give legal sanction to digital signatures. This implies that a service provider can authenticate the customer. The service will facilitate easy movement of electronic commerce as validation and authentication were major hurdles. The move is aimed at increasing India's share in the $150-billion global packaged computer software and value-added products sector. (uh)
