GM's Wagoner takes control of ailing North American unit

General Motors Corp. is in a money losing crisis and has appointed Rick Wagoner as Chief Executive Officer of the North American auto unit to turn the company around, replacing Robert Lutz and Gary Cowger. General Motors Corp. shares are down 33 cents to $29.05 on the New York Stock Exchange.
