Golding opportunity
Article Abstract:
Former Royal Fine Art Commission Secretary Francis Golding is well-known for his abilities in architectural criticism. He has not yet decided on his next project after five years working for the RFAC. A number of architects have suggested they would be interested in employing Golding who has an understanding of policies and architecture. The ARB chose not to employ him as their new registrar in last months of 1999. Golding enjoys collecting Chinese pottery and hopes to eventually write a book.

A testament to failure
Article Abstract:
The RIBA in London, England, is staging an exhibition entitled '20th Century British Housing.' This exhibition is well presented, but is extremely banal in its conceptualization of housing. The organizers clearly admire state-provided, universally applicable housing types. Indeed, the exhibition gives the impression that the only role of the private sector is to demonstrate the potential of Modernism. It implies that simply repeating best practice is sufficient.

Medium of modernism
Article Abstract:
The exhibition ' Reconstructing Space: Architecture in Recent German Photography' provides several good images but the selection is too small to provide an in-depth analysis. The exhibition gives an insight into the study of German photography but fail to embody the emotive power of paintings.
