HYDERABAD TO HOUSE V-SAT NETWORK FOR BANKS SOON
Article Abstract:
The Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT) will be setting up a wide area network in the form of satellite based V-Sat network. IDRBT will have 500 V-Sats initially and later upgrade to 5,000 V-Sats. The network will go on line by April 1999. The network is a closed user group V-Sat network with a facility for voice and video transmission on a selective basis. The master earth station of the network will be situated at IDRBT's premises. M/s Hughes Escorts Communication Ltd is the network solution provider. CMC is the technical consultants for the project. This network will help banks to offer any time banking - any where banking concept. The network is initially open for only public sector banks but will be opened to private banks once the network establishes itself. (um)(psr)

HEALTHNET, CTS SIGN PACT FOR OUTSOURCING APPLICATION SERVICES

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation (CTS) of Chennai has tied-up a multi-phase agreement with HealthNet for a range of application outsourcing services. CTS will undertake system design and development at its Indian centre while specification, user interface development, system testing and integration will be done on-site at HealthNet's location in Kansas City, USA. CTS will undertake data mapping to Facets, design and develop Facets interface and create many other enhancements to Facets running on an IBM RS 6000 client/server platform. (khr)
