Mexico Pres Ernesto Zedillo decided to take action against the Zapatista rebels in the state of Chiapas with disastrous consequences. Supporters of the rebels, who propose political reforms and the rights of indigenous peoples, led Zedillo to stop the action, but not apologize for his actions.
