Production belge en hausse l'an dernier
Article Abstract:
In 1997, the production of paper and paperboard in Belgium increased 11% from 1996 to 1.5mn tonne says Cobelpa, the Belgian association of pulp, paper and paperboard producers. This increase in paper production is mainly due to the take-over of Intermills' plant by Cartiera di Cordenons and the introduction of extra equipment for corrugated paper production at VPK's Oudegem plant. In 1997, the production of pulp increased 6% to 406,000 tonnes. The paper industry recycled 413,000 tonnes of paper - a 13% increase from 1996. Cobelpa expects paper production to reach a satisfactory level in 1998 and pulp stocks to drop.
