Bubbles stop shoals dodging purse seines

Icelandic company Airlock has developed a method of preventing shoals from escaping the purse seines. Einar Steinsson has invented the method, which has been installed on three purse seiners so far. The mechanism of the Airlock is described.

Hampidjan, the Icelandic gear manufacturer has developed a part-plastic trawl doors for oceanic work. The design and uses of trawl doors have been explained in detail. The company has also applied for the patent.
