Atlas Copco prevails in bid to acquire Rental Service

Atlas Copco AB of Sweden will purchase Rental Service Corp. for $730 million (699.8 million euros). The acquisition comes in the form of a "white-knight bid." Atlas Copco succeeded in outbidding United Rentals Inc.'s $550 million hostile takeover bid for Rental Service. Atlas Copco will be paying $29 per share in the deal. Rental Service is a equipment-rental company. United Rentals had offered $22.75 per share.

Siam Cement's net increases on sales, petrochemical prices
