Hudson's Bay embraces e-tailing
Article Abstract:
Hudson's Bay Co (HBC) is launching a Web site where it will sell between 7,000 to 10,000 of its products starting on Oct 2000. The Web site will established through an alliance with IBM Canada Ltd, Microsoft Canada Co and Oracle Canada Inc. HBC's capital expenditures for the alliance will not exceed the $40 million to $45 million it traditionally allots for technology items. The Web site will also be used by HBC to better communicate with its associates, suppliers and customers.

Zellers debuts Martha in Quebec

Zellers Inc is rolling out an advertising campaign to support the introduction of its Martha Stewart Everday Home Line in 63 stores in Quebec. The objective is to make Martha Stewart more familiar to consumers who have not yet heard of her. The advertising campaign, which consists of billboards, daily newspaper ads and a TV commercial, has been created by Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia LLC and Ogilvy and Mather's Toronto agency.
