Humberside-districts respond
Article Abstract:
There is a possibility that Humberside County Council will be abolished, and its functions, including planning, given to district authorities. The need for decisions which affect the whole area to be made has been recognised by the formation of the Humber Forum to consider the Humber Estuary area. Supporters of district authorities feel that the removal of the county council will enable decisions to be made effectively and without so many restrictions.
