ICI catches up
Article Abstract:
The British chemical giant Imperial Chemical Industries Inc has decided to break up some of its operations. It will create a new company called ICI Bio which will control agricultural chemicals and pharmaceuticals. The explosives, paints and other chemicals will remain under the original name.

The acquisition of Rorer Pharmaceutical Corp by Rhone-Poulenc SA has allowed the French company to exploit the pharmaceutical market in the US. Rorer had been looking for a merger partner.
