Ideologues undaunted
Article Abstract:
Gary Bauer has declared himself a presidential candidate, and he should be taken seriously due to his ability to raise funds, though his views may appear to make him unelectable. There is support for the right of women to have abortions, a view held by over two thirds of Americans. Ideologues could become classified as zealots. Republicans who do not become pigeonholed have more chance to become president. Elizabeth Dole and George W. Bush are Republicans who thus appear to have more chance to become president.
