Still room at the top
Article Abstract:
Telecommunication companies in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan are scrambling to move to the top of the industry. Japan still retains its lead in the high-technology telecommunications market but South Korea and Taiwan are not far behind. Huge and long-range investments in research and infrastructure are needed to develop new products. Japan's Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp has introduced its Integrated Services Digital Network and plans to complete Japan's digitalization services by 2015. However, it is still unclear how the giant corporation will achieve this given its current financial status.
