Infineon moves its special products to Trutnov

Infineon Technologies CR (IT CR) (Trutnov, Czech Republic), electrical engineering firm, should invest a total of more than CEK 1 bil during the trade year 2000/2001. The investments are financed by Infineon Technologies (IT) (Germany). In Jan 2001 IT CR started pilot production at a new hall. The hall was built at a cost of CEK 175 mil during 2H 2000. In Jun 2001 the firm should complete the second hall worth CEK 135 mil. The hall will be commissioned in Jul 2001. The costs on the equipment of both the halls with technology will be nearly CEK 800 mil. IT has moved a considerable part of the manufacturing of connectors for optical fibre cables and optical and electronic converters to IT CR and plans to move other kinds of manufacturing to the firm shortly. IT CR should increase the number of its employees to the planned 1,400 by the end of Sep 2001. The firm increased the number of its employees by more than 620 to 1,167 persons from Jan 2000 till the end of Apr 2001. IT CR expects a total turnover of at least CEK 2.5 bil for Oct/2000-Sep/2001.

Infineon Technologies Trutnov is set up

Infineon Technologies Trutnov (ITT) (Trutnov, Czech Republic), elecrical engineering firm, expects a turnover of 1.8 bil Kc for 1999/2000, from 01 October 1999 by 30 September 2000. The firm should export all its production. Its investments should be 80 mil Kc in 1999/2000. The company is considering the construction of a new plant with a production area of about 4,000 sq mt. The firm's turnover for 1998/1999 totalled 862 mil Kc. All the turnover was ensured by exports. The firm, which has more than 500 employees, manufactures optical connectors for cables with optical fibres and optical and electronic converters for a wavelength of 850-1,300 nm. ITT, which operated under the name SET HL (Trutnov, Czech Republic) till 10 January 2000, was a part of the Semiconductor division of Siemens (Germany). Infineon Technologies (Munich, Germany), Siemens's wholly-owned subsidiary, was set up by the separation of the division. SET HL was renamed on 11 January 2000.

The group TTC saw a turnover of more than 1 bil Kc

TTC Tesla Telekomunikace (Czech Republic), telecommunication equipment manufacturer, has been a new name of Tesla Telekomunikace (Czech Republic) since 01 January 1999. The firm saw a turnover of 1.3 bil Kc in 1998, 30% more compared to 1997. The company's gross profit amounted to more than 100 mil Kc in 1998, a double compared to 1997. The biggest part of the group's revenues was represented by TTC Tesla Telekomunikace (Czech Republic) and TTC Marconi (Czech Republic). Each of them generates more than 0.5 bil Kc of the group's revenues. In 1998 TTC Marconi won a tender of the telecommunication firm SPT Telecom (Czech Republic) for the supplier of technology for access networks and contracts on the supplies of technology for the replacement of analogous circuits.
