Interbrew can keep Prazske Pivovary
Article Abstract:
Prazske pivovary (PP) (Prague, Czech Republic), brewing company, will remain the property of the brewing group Interbrew (Belgium). According to a decision of the European Commission, Interbrew can keep the activities of the bought brewing division of the group Bass (UK) that are not related to the UK market. PP saw a loss of CEK 789 mil in 2000. Its loss excluding extra accounting items amounted to CEK 318 mil in 2000, 14% less compared to 1999. Interbrew plans to increase PP's stock to CEK 3.4 bil in 2001 compared to the current CEK 1.72 bil. The stock increase should end PP's unprofitability. Interbrew holds a 97% stake in PP.
