Flight to a new awareness

Article Abstract:

An ABA House Delegate tells of how narrowly escaping an airplane accidents forced him to a new awareness of life and a change of priorities. The flight was Northwest Airlines No. 1469 from Nashville to Minneapolis/St. Paul. The airplane's passengers were told to prepare for a crash landing, however, the airplane landed safely but out of fuel. terminal. The head flight attendant said she had never had this experience before and when the plane landed all the lawyers said they were returning home instead of to work early as they had intended before the crash landing.

Invasion of the tooth snatchers

Article Abstract:

The International Association for Dental Research has held a conference in Vancouver where a number of issues were discussed. These issues include gene therapy for bone growth, and methods of brushing teeth to avoid fluorosis. Applying toothpaste across the brush can help prevent children from using too much. Meanwhile, there is a debate as to whether power toothbrushes are more effective in cleaning teeth than manual toothbrushes, with conflicting results from experiments.

The wisdom of fathers

Article Abstract:

A man who grew up in Napa, CA, describes his appreciation for the city and its winemaking history now that he is grown. As a child, he was involved in the wine-making process and lacked appreciation for the city's history. His father's efforts to help him appreciate the city when he was young were rebuffed, but now that he is older, he hopes to again live in Napa.
