Investors take precautions: as Asia picks up, funds adopt strict guidelines
Article Abstract:
Fund managers are being careful in selecting investments in the Asian region despite positive signs in the Asian stock market. Investment managers are being wary of companies with deceiving balance sheets. This approach is to the advantage of medium-priced blue-chip stocks but shows that the stock market rallies will be concentrated on only a few stocks. Fund managers are careful to examine risk and relative value as the stock prices are not expected to dip as low as those of 1998.
