Iran comes clean
Article Abstract:
Iran's secret police has admitted that its police agents have been involved in the the murders of dissidents. This admission represents a victory for the Iranian reform movement. Iran's president. Muhammad Khatami, was elected to make Iran more law-abiding and democratic, and he has made some progress, though there is some uncertainty about how long the progress can last. Khatami has praised the intelligence ministry for being open. He has been criticised for the slow pace of change, but his strategy could be justified by events.
