Japan's stock-market shutdown reveals cracks in trading system

Technological glitches at the Tokyo Stock Exchange of Japan caused a shut-down in trading yesterday afternoon preventing its computer systems from short circuiting. The emergency closure occurred after a series of technological problems recently, although it is the first in its history of 57 years of operation. The malfunctioning could impede Japan's economic recovery.

Citigroup extends apology to Japan
